Cut, Pleated and Draped - National Dress and Monastic Attire in Bhutan
“Fashion is a language that creates itself in clothes in order to interpret reality.” said the famous fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. Is this also true for traditional costume and religious robes? And, if yes, what kind of language do Bhutanese national dress and Buddhist monastic attire speak? How do they interpret reality?

Join us on online for a talk with Mareike Wulff (Humboldt University) on Bhutanese monastic and national dress in comparison: Friday 28 May 2021 at 1 PM (CEST).

The talk is jointly organised by The University of Manchester and the Center for Contemporary Buddhist Studies and the Asian Dynamics Initiative at the University of Copenhagen.

May 28, 2021 01:00 PM in Copenhagen

Meeting is over, you can not register now. If you have any questions, please contact Meeting host: Marie Yoshida.
